26.01.2015   The first and the oldest national park in Latvia was established on 14 September 1973 in order to protect slightly disturbed natural areas, promote nature tourism and ensure sustainable development in the area.

Brussels, 21 January, 2015. – On Wednesday, 21 January, Kaspars Gerhards, the Minister for Environmental Protection and Regional Development of the Republic of Latvia, introduced environmental sector’s priorities of the Latvian Presidency to the members of Parliament, Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety.
