An e-Skills Week

This informative campaign has been organized to popularize and to innovative an education and ICT services. The purpose of this campaign is to inform the society about an importance of e-Skills in our lifes as well as to let to know that a demand for ICT practitioners is increasing.

In the framework of the European Get Online Week (from February 28th till March 5th, 2011) The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development in co-operation with the Latvian Information and Communications Technology Association (LIKTA) (that organized the second informative campaign of the e-Skills week).

The purpose of the e-Skills week is to raise a public interest in knowing more about the possibilities to learn e-Skills.  The important aim of e-Skills week is to inform the society about e-Skills improvement and it’s obtaining possibilities. Also that, the e-Skills week gives an opportunity to spread an information about state e-Services.

The audience of the e-Skills week is: all ICT users (students, teachers, small and large entrepreneurs, local governments, seniors, unemployed people, work searchers and others), as well as a part of society who has never used ICT instruments (a computer and the Internet) before.

There is the European information campaign “e-Skills Week” in  Latvia has been organized since 2010 and every year the participation of around 40 thousand people has been ensured.
