On 16th March during the Creativity Award Ceremony- Sigulda, Salacgrīva and Rūjiena Local Governments were announced as the most creative municipalities in Latvia by adopting creative and unique solutions in their daily work.
Laureates were awarded by the Minister of Environmental Protection and Regional Development Mr. Edmunds Sprūdžs, Advisor to the Minister of Culture Mr. Janis Dripe and Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Science Mrs. Inga Štāle.
The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development received 75 successful stories from the local governments carried out by active and vigorous people, who have trust in development of their own town, local government and region.
The Creativity Award is organized within the framework of the Creativity Week – Create!. The aim is to promote creativity in the daily work of local governments and to inform society about good practices of local governments.
The initiators of this Week are the Ministry of Culture of Republic of Latvia and the British Council in Latvia.
