The Latvian Presidency of the Council of the EU
From 1 January till June 30, 2015, Latvia was the country holding the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The presidency rotates among the member states every half a year. The presiding member state assumes responsibility for the work of the Council of the EU and defines the issues to be taken forward during the next six month period.
