Ministrs Raimonds Čudars un Francijas vēstnieks Latvijā

Minister for Smart Administration and Regional Development Raimonds Čudars met with French Ambassador to Latvia Manuel Lafont Rapnouil. During the meeting, they discussed priorities in the field of digital transformation and possible cooperation between Latvia and France. 

Several priorities in the digital field were discussed during the talks, including strengthening European digital independence and promoting competitiveness, cloud services, including security aspects, the prospects for the development of artificial intelligence in Europe, and the introduction of digital identity solutions. 

Minister Raimonds Čudars said that the focus is currently on work to introduce the EU Digital Identity Wallet. He also provided information about the activities of the Artificial Intelligence Center and possible forms of cooperation at this level. The minister emphasized that it is essential to ensure a regulatory environment conducive to innovation – appropriate regulations are already being developed and are expected to be harmonized and approved by the government in the near future.
