On November 3rd of 2020, the Norway Grants programme “Climate Change Mitigation, Adaptation and Environment” is launched by publishing an informative video prepared by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development (MEPRD).

The opening speech of the programme is given by the Minister of Environmental Protection and Regional Development Juris Pūce.

The programme is implemented in close cooperation with the Donor Programme Partner - the Norwegian Environment Agency, which actively participated in the development and implementation of the Programme. "It has been a great pleasure to work with the MoEPRD on the Programme, and we are confident that Latvia will achieve their goals. We look forward to cooperating with Latvia on a predefined project on Integration of climate change policy in sectoral and regional policies. We believe that the exchange of experience and knowledge through this project can be valuable for both countries` climate policies” says André Kammerud, head of the  Norwegian Environment Agency's Section for the High North and Bilateral Relations.

The opening speech of the programme is also given by the Ambassador of Norway to Latvia Kristian Ødegaard.

The MoEPRD experts involved in the programme have prepared informative video about the planned contribution and role of Norway Grants in improving climate and environmental quality, as well as the programme activities and supported areas.

Also video has been prepared on the programme's Open Call "Mitigation of risks related to historically contaminated sites" in order to inform potential project applicants and partners about the main requirements of the regulations to successfully participate in the Open Call. The Open Call project application must be submitted by 7th of December 2020.
